Reflections

While our eyes are attuned to the world of color, there is something innate in black and white photographs that appeals to me.

Ever since I turned 30, I have felt a deep desire and urgent need to “create” something, and anything. Back then, I didn’t think much about what I wanted to do. I didn’t consider myself as a “creative” person, given that I am totally hopeless in the field of arts and I see myself as someone straight-laced, practical and pragmatic. I just wanted to create and do stuff that I own, and that there is a certain degree of impact and legacy that I could leave behind. To put in succinctly, I wanted to be inspired, and to inspire.

I started playing around with monochrome black and white images by the end of 2014 and have found this interest stuck with me since.

The itch has been scratched, and I’m happy for now.

Today, I identify myself as an amateur hobbyist black and white photographer. I take photographs that I enjoy, and I see myself leaning towards street and architectural photography. I feel a strong connection in pictures with human elements within. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

The goal for this site is twofold: 1) as a platform to fuel my creative outlets and 2) as a platform for like-minded photographers who are keen in this black and white photography niche.

Let’s improve our pictures together!
